As the title says I could use some help. I’ve been using file sharing programs with our ISP for a couple years now. I always have my VPN on, I use PIA, with kill switch activated. Yesterday after finding some Star Trek to download, I was sent an email detailing copyright infringement for those same files. I ran and double checked my VPN was on, it was.

I don’t understand how this is possible. Now again, this morning I received another infringement email even though I had shut everything down.

Now I’m at strike 2, one more and I lose my internet access. Can anyone help explain to me what happened? Am I screwed to never file share again unless I switch ISPs? Help please and thank you.
