Yesterday I was on my room listening to some music, and my friend got in contact with my parents to trade some “digital” money to physical (like zelle/bank transfer). As my parents weren’t home, they called me on my phone and told me to get the money and give it to him so he would transfer to same amount to my account. I got the money and went to his house to give it to him, as he’s my neighbor and lives on the same block as me.

I went there, gave him the money, helped him transfer the money to my account as he has some eye problems and can’t really see properly, had a little talk with him about how I was going to wake up really early today to sign a job contract, as I just got hired on the same day. He was happy for me as I got a job, we joked a little and I had to go home to sleep as I would have to wake up early today.

When I was leaving, a quick thought went through my head to “talk a little bit more with him”, but I ignored it and went to my house.

Today, right as I arrived home from signing the contract, my friend’s family started calling on my parents phones as they were worried about him not answering messages or calls, and they also got in contact with other friends and neighbors to know about him.

My parents and the whole neighborhood went there to see if he was well.

They found him dead on his bed, and his body was already cold. We, the doctors and the police believe it was a heart attack and he died while sleeping.

I was the last person to see him alive, and I was the last person he saw and talked with. Right after talking with me he died.

I’m in shock, the same for his neighbors and his family.

TL;DR: Talk with your friends and family if you feel like so. Don’t do like I did. The next day they might be dead.
