six years ago i bought a gaming PC, i bought it from a guy and with the money i had i told him to cut wome corners.

the CPU was weaker than the one i wanted, the GPU was used before the motherboard and case were cheap HP office PCs i think (the theme of this post is that i am a dumbass) i just wanted to be done with it so i can play some R6 with my friends.

years go by and i notice some preformence hiccups here and there, when i played RE8 i got less frames then my sister did on her laptop even though it had worse specs.

i ignored it blaming it on this or that “oh it might be the cpu” “maybe if i hade more ram” “it’s the motherboard” etc etc.

it got bad that at one point the pc would take upwards 25 minutes to boot, i blamed the newly installed hard drive.

fast forward to today and had the bright idea to check my PSU it was 320w i go online on a psu calculator then i type in the specs, lo and behold my pc requires 400w to 500w.

there i sat infront of my monitor Shocked by my stupidity and saddned that my pc was handicapped all these years because of my stupidity.

i don’t even have the courage to go the store and tell them to change it (it’s one of those old ones that i dont quite know how and with which i should replace).

edit: turns out i’m still (am now?) a dumbass because as the comments have suggested kf the PSU doesnt have enough wattage for the pc, it would just crash and not run slow, you learn something new everyday.

TL;DR: my pc was handicapped for 6 years because my dumbass didnt even check the label on the psu until now.
