Every day on my feed I see more and more people trying out desktop Linux and actually enjoying it, especially after getting their hands on a Steam Deck but also compounded by Microsoft announcing Recall, and it just puts a huge smile on my face. I remember even just 2-3 years back that desktop Linux wasn’t quite where it is now in terms of features, polish, and general hardware/software support. It’s been more accessible than it’s ever been and people are now realizing that. There has and always will be growing pains, but things have been moving so rapidly in favor of desktop Linux that it wouldn’t be hard to see it taking on an even larger portion of desktop market share in the next 5-10 years. Year of the Linux Desktop anyone? I jest. In all seriousness, welcome newbies and I hope you enjoy your stay! 😁
