So I built a computer in 2019. Everything going great - maintaining it. This year windows 10 just doesnt want to update or repair. I don’t want windows 11. Computer wont shut down and takes 30 mins to boot. So finally was forced to wipe the drives, install windows fresh and put all my programs back. I always write down all my legit keycodes and such in case I ever have to reinstall (also save all my keygens and crack files)

One program I use for car and mower maintenance is called auto wolf pro. I bought it legit in 2019. I think cost me $45 but I use it all the time. I went to go install it again, put in the key and it says keys are only good for 5 years. I go their website says email them for a new key. Them doing it this way helps fight piracy it says on their website.

I email them and here is their response.

Your 5 year Free Key replacement period has ended.

You purchased a license for Automotive Wolf on 6-20-2019

Customers that purchased a license more than 5 years ago must purchase a new license when a replacement Key is needed for any new installations of the software.

You can purchase a new license from this link:

Since you purchased a license previously you qualify for a discount. If you purchase a Standard License ($29.95) we will give you a Free upgrade to the PRO version ($39.95).

The new license you purchase will provide you with replacement Keys and support when needed for an additional 5 years.

( Note: Once the software is registered on a computer the Key is permanent and will never expire on that computer unless you reinstall the Operating System. All upgrades are Free and do not require a new Key.)

WTF, I bought a legit copy and just because I have to reinstall windows I can no longer use the software I bought and have to pay again? Yeah this is why I pirate stuff.

I still have the old drive. Trying to figure out if I can copy over the files to the new drive or find their key in reg edit and transfer it over somehow.
