I’ve only read the forward by Chris Mellon, and already this book adds interesting context. According to Mellon, he only had “personal” interest in UAP until 2017 and did not regard the topic as relevant, when Jim Semivan introduced him to Elizondo. As we now know, it was actions between Mellon and Elizondo that lead to the 2017 NYT article and the start of the modern disclosure movement. This means that Elizondo is instigator of all the substantial public awareness on this topic in modern times. Some might regard that as a hero’s move, still others might see this as more evidence of a single source of (mis?)information and the source of all this. Regardless, I thought it was interesting and added some context to my understanding of the background. Mellon wasn’t some DIA analyst overseeing UAP topics, according to him, he became officially interested through the actions of Elizondo.
