I had a bit of time this weekend so I decided to mess around with setting up a high performance plan on my surface pro 11 and ended up having to reset my surface.

I reset via windows reset in settings, downloaded generic image from the cloud, chose to set up as new pc (not from backup) and thanks to non-optimized generic windows my battery life halved from 8-10 hrs to 4-5 hrs.

I went to the official surface recovery part of Microsoft’s official website and fixed the issue with a bare metal reset from usb

I might be the only one to not have realized this, but the official surface image you can get via the official microsoft website has some real special sauce that optimizes the shit out of the battery life for the sp11 in particular
