I am here again to report that, to the chagrin of so many in the gaming community (/s), Genshin Impact 5.0 [Natlan] is playable on SteamOS day-0, minute-0. Much like yesteryear’s Major Version update to 4.0, 5.0 launched just fine after the update installed, via Hoyo’s own Hoyoverse launcher or via the Other Launcher project.

As always: Spend smartly - or don’t spend at all, if you can, as it IS an F2P game - if you play. Be careful not to fall into the Gacha currency hole. But above all, have fun :D
