I had a Surface Pro SQ3 5G and the dream was nearrrlllyyy there. No native Slack for ARM killed it for me. I’ve been waiting all summer for the Surface Pro 11 with 5G to launch and I’m loving this thing!

Ditched the iPhone 15 Pro Max for the Samsung Fold 6 as well, needless to say I was less than impressed by this year’s keynote.

I don’t regret not getting the OLED model, I went with the Plus 5G and slapped a larger SSD in myself. I still have a AMD/4090 16" gaming laptop to round out my setup for heavy workloads, but this has solidly replaced the Macbook Pro for me, and the two iPad Pros I returned as iPadOS doesn’t work and is janky for my use cases.

Running the 3440x1440 UW at 99Hz. It’s not 120, but good enough (using 8k displayport to USB-C cable).

Also, slapped in the iPad T-Mobile SIM card and worked out of the box! What didn’t work was first boot+updates as whatever the hardware update that came out on the 10th soft bricked my windows install (yellow bar, recovery mode). Since I was changing out the SSD anyway, slapped the steam deck 512GB SSD in and downloaded the recovery image.
