Original Title: Weren’t we told that tulips are Ottoman Turkish symbols? Yet, this Armenian vestment from Bursa says otherwise. The Cross dates to 1518, the vestment to the 17th century. Armenians in Bursa dominated the silk trade and produced ornate tulip patterns. This is in the Echmiatsin Museum.
