This is the second iteration of my previous portrait stand for the Framework 13. That design was basically a joke, so I didn't expect to keep working on it. But I couldn't get this design idea out of my head, so I had to make it.It turns out this design is much more stable and also more portable, to the point where I've decided to always keep this in my backpack. I can now shove and bump the laptop in all directions without risk of making it fall over. Here's what I consider to be the notable about the design:It uses the edge of the screen as support. This makes the design much more compact, but it may lead to the screen edge getting scuffed over time. The angle of the screen is stronger than the other design, for better stability. (It's 30 degrees.) With this setup, I'm not looking at the screen at 90 degrees. It's noticeable, but I don't mind it at all.I didn't bother rounding off any edges this time. This could be improved. Imagine searching for something in your bag with your hands - rounded edges would make that more comfortable. One of the four IO ports is still blocked. As you can see in the picture, I use it on tiny train tables which are too small for the laptop otherwise. I genuinely think this is a great setup for reading and coding, I am comfortable and productive with it. The print came out kinda ugly, but it works fine, so I didn't redo it.The source is here.
