As you probably know, several extra-parliamentary pro-EU forces run an initiative to include the EU membership referendum in the parliament’s agenda and discuss it during one of the sessions.

They are required to gather 50,000 signatures in 60 days. The campaign began on September 14th and will run until November 16th.

5,000 signatures were collected in the first 3 days of the campaign, there is no other information at the moment. The organizers will publish figures every 20 days.

At the moment e-signatures don’t work with this campaign, so you have to go to your local administration (թաղապետարան) with a passport. Not sure about the weekends, so it would be safe to do it during the working day.

If this campaign is successful but the parliament does not agree to hold a referendum, then the campaigners’ next step would be to gather 300,000 signatures that would force a referendum directly, i.e. bypassing the parliament, which would probably be more problematic to do.

This is just FYI. Have you decided yet?
