The last two games I bought, Space Marine 2 and Frostpunk 2 just hurt my eyes
Here’s a comparison example of something that hurts my eyes vs something I feel like it looks clean, Kingdom Come Deliverance
Since I have myopia intentional blurriness always made my eyes strain like they can’t focus, I just can’t enjoy a lot of the modern titles unless I disable all these effects.
I know it is subtle but I really have a gripe with this style that’s used in almost every single game now, especially in games I really want to play for longer sessions
In the past we could disable aberrations, blurriness, TAA and whatnot but now they seem baked-in no matter how I adjust the settings
The fact that they require upscalers to hit 60fps even on decent graphic cards that make it look even more blurry is not helping either and I can’t even see all that detail in the first place that’s using all that graphic power since it’s all of it smeared into oblivion and covered in a blanket of fog
