I guess just a rant Bout parents stunting their children’s futures. I’ve been feeling really spicy about the church again particularly with my young loved ones and their futures.
My nieces and nephews have been raised in an evangelical lds bubble. Homeschool, no outside influence, just intense indoctrination. Sacrificing their education and future to make sure they only know the lds dogma
As a result many are illiterate, do not have a ged or comparable, are not able to do 4th grade math or even know how yo structure an essay. Oh but they do study their patriarchal blessings once a week. Ages are 8 to 20.
All of these things have hard ramifications. And it’s causing major depression in many of the children. They know they can’t assimilate into society easily, even going to byu a mission etc feels out of reach. The parents are in intense denial claiming refusing to acknowledge they are stunted and need help. Because acknowledging this means acknowledging failings in their lds commune homeschooling
My bil is upset because he doesn’t want anyone to tease or judge his children for how they were raised which is fair and hard. But. They talk baby talk as adults, they can’t read, they can’t do math, their social skills are that of children because of this lack of exposure.
There stunted and it’s the.parents fault.
