Compared to what you’re normally burning on your PC and/or console, if the deck isn’t your primary gaming device. I know that in my case, ever since getting it I’ve been immersing myself more in indie genres that just never got my attention on PC. I’ve always been pretty basic when it comes to genres, mind you. Mostly FPS and racing games and it was as slow way to discovering the RPGs and more narrative rich stuff that expanded my horizons. The deck really pushed me into being more adventurous when picking what to play next. But I owe the deck for getting me deep into these two in particular

  • Roguelites — Dunno what is it about handhelds but I think playing Balatro was the first time my battery died on me while I kept saying to myself… just one more run, just one more run, just one… more… run. Besides that, with all the newer releases (like Astral Ascent + replaying Hades while waiting for the full release of Hades 2) they just keep on giving way, and eating my time lol, way beyond their paygrade
  • Puzzlers — The chillest of the chill games to play before going to bed. They jog your mind just enough to keep you from dozing off (like Return of the Obra Dinn) while keeping you interested throughout with the story. Or the opposite, like Paper Trail that just slowly “lulled” me into the story and carried me bit by bit to the end, although I guess you could feasibly finish it in like 1-2 sittings

I feel like ARPGs are also very good because of the isometric perspective. D2R was my go to, now I’m cycling between Last Epoch and Path of Exile, both pretty good except LE requires some fixes to run smoothly… tho PoE also has the occasional hiccup when loading new areas (or else my deck is just playing tricks on me idk)
