7 months ago my wife and I had our first son. My evenings of gaming have gone away, as my priority is my son when I come home (also to give my wife a much needed break as she is a stay at home mom). I’ve only played console games through my life so I wasn’t aware of “Steam” as a platform. I’ve missed gaming as it has always been my mental escape where I could shut my brain off for an hour (which is even more needed lately!). Then came the Steam Deck. I heard about this device and then found this community. I ordered the OLED model on a whim and it’s been one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. The past 3 months I’ve been able to return to gaming during my lunch break at work. I’ve finished Portal 2, Tomb Raider, Titanfall 2, and Fallout 4. I don’t mess with any game settings. The most I do is set the screen frame rate from the decks built in overlay. It’s been a phenomenal experience and I can’t wait for my next campaign to play.
