If you want to ask the Cache Owner for a hint, it helps a lot if you tell them about the efforts you already put into finding the cache.

That shows the cache owner you have already worked to find it, and informs them about how geocache seekers view their cache (which CO really want to know), and it lets the CO give a good hint because they know what you already checked.

It works really well for me!
