I love this forum because the questions make me think about why I love certain movies. A recent post Asked about atmospheric movies, and I realized that all my answers (and most others) were suspenseful or bordering on intense. So, can a comedy be atmospheric? I think of atmospheric as using music, tone, style to make you feel there- not just visuals. I think use of sound is super immersive for horror, suspense etc. I think Booksmart was a “true” comedy (not dark/black comedy) that was also fairly atmospheric. Discuss amongst yourselves.
