Throwback to his 62kg days, which explains the video quality. 188kg is 5kg over his world record in the 62kg class.

He always had that gnarly twist in his catch and recovery. His coach in Hunan told me he tried to undo the twist but was unusual and proceeded to just manage it. Either way, Shen is an extremely underrated lifter.
