When you plan a geocaching event outside, place the coordinates a little bit out in the open (if that doesn’t confuse anyone). Then for fun (and enlightenment) at the social, have everyone pull up the event cache listing on their GPS/phone device and walk to their “ground zero” by the coordinates.

People will laugh and learn a lot how different devices “find” a different “ground zero” at the same time and with the same coordinates. Plus they will remember that “lesson” when they next look for a geocache.

If you continue the game for several minutes or so, people will follow their GPS coords to different places, showing even more how much to trust the GPS when you are very close to the cache.

Laugh and learn!
