Hello hello!
I’m a writer that lives in FoCo. I have noticed and heard complaints that there isn’t a good source of news for our town. We used to have an award-winning news outlet, but it was bought by a major corporation and reduced to ashes of its former self.
So, I am considering filling that gap/need for our local community.
**edit* This would primarily be a digital publication for now. Print could be a possibility, but seeing as I am currently just one person, I think digital would be the most sustainable route for in the short term.*
I envision being able to take submission for stories, having a free “weekly roundup/review” subscription, having paid subscriptions at some point when demand/output allows it, having multiple writers, possibly expanding to video, and more.
I have a couple questions:
- Do you believe there is a need for better news coverage in Fort Collins?
- Is this something you would read/consume, contribute to, and support? (not necessarily financially)
- What types of news do you feel are lacking in our town?
- What would you be interested in seeing from such a news publication?
- Any other input/feedback?
Appreciate you all, can’t wait to see if there is a positive response for this.
