Fenwick Christmas Window

What: If you know, you know! But if you don’t, it’s a festive display that Newcastle department store Fenwick installs in its Northumberland Street-facing window every year in the run up to Christmas.

It’s been happening since 1971 with a different theme each year and is a festive tradition here in Newcastle, drawing huge crowds every Christmas.

No tickets, just turn up!

When: Open to the public on Monday 4th November and throughout the festive season.

Ice Skating

The Argie Bhaji

What: The beloved CURRY BATTLE returns and is now well established as foodie favourite as we head into the autumn months. 

As we say goodbye to sun cream and shorts we stoke the Brewery fires & gather round for yet another street food adventure.

The highlight of the street food calendar. Boasting a mantra “curry is life” 44Events celebrate Indian cuisine with a weekend of small plates, curries, sides, and fusion dishes from the city’s best. From the people behind Battle Of The Burger, Slice Wars, and the Mexican StandOff you can expect similar foodie fanfare with the added comfort of roaring fires, cosy corners, and autumn warmers throughout. Once again hosted by Wylam Brewery, the event sees the last of a 2024 calendar that has hosted some of the biggest street food celebrations in Newcastle.

Firework Display

📍 Where: Blue Flames Sporting Club, Benton - Google Maps

What: Get ready for a fun-filled evening as the annual Blue Flames Fireworks Display returns to Whitley Park!

This exciting family event will feature spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky from 7:00pm. Gates open at 5:30pm, and you’ll find plenty to keep the whole family entertained, from thrilling fairground rides to a variety of food stalls and vendors serving delicious treats.

Make the most of the three indoor bars for drinks, and keep an eye out for special character appearances throughout the night! Please note, there is no on-site parking, so attendees are encouraged to use public transport.

Important Information:

  • Tickets cannot be bought at the gate but are available for purchase via the event page or at the Main Reception before 5th November.
  • Rides and third-party vendors may require cash, so come prepared!
