I’m genuinely curious as to why people would consider re-electing Nanos. Based on the research I’ve done, I’ve found several concerning points:

In 2021 alone, there were 10 inmate deaths, bringing the total to around 25.

Regarding the sexual assault case against a female employee, Nanos faced criticism from Steve Christy and others for conducting an internal investigation rather than allowing an independent investigation.

Nanos threatened to withdraw security from county meetings in response to budget disagreements.

He censored his running mate, Heather Lappin, and placed her on leave.

The infamous RICO fund misuse, which saw the FBI scrutinize his department over the misuse of funds typically reserved for fighting organized crime.

There was also a unanimous “no confidence” vote from deputies regarding his leadership.

Given these issues, I’m curious—what motivated people to vote for him?

Please know that I am not red or blue, I am independent but want the best for where I live.
