Anet, you got something special, something genre defining in your game, yet it seems like you didnt realized. (Spoilers: it’s WvW)

You should know you create something special when a gamemode that barely got your attention or update, yet still remains active with large amount of player actively participating to a point where it formed its own community despite its THE LEAST REWARD GAMEMODE FOR 12 YEARS.

I can not think of any RPG with 24/7 sandbox PVP gamemode that offers different play-style so both casual and MLG sweats can enjoy, which come with large scale Zerg fights to solo roaming or anything in between.

Beside Planetside 2 which is a FPS and Albion which is a grind fest with MOBA gameplay and full loot PVP.

It’s the gameplay.

GW2’s combat system serve PVP so well that almost made me think that it’s a PVP first PVE second game, both large scale and small scale PVP gameplay just works, somehow.

WoW, FF14, BDO, ESO, New World, Albion. I played them all yet none of their PVP kept me coming back like GW2’s WVW.

It blew my mind to consider that, for the most part WvW has been the same for 12 YEARS.

People likes to bring up the desert map update and how it goes wrong yadiyada.

Imo that’s just an update that missed the point of WvW.

People like WvW’s core PVP gameplay, and that’s why Alpine and EBG is so much more popular than Desert, cause it doesn’t have so many bloated mechanics and player can focus on fighting each other in an enjoy way. Alpine map is straight forward enough for just that.

I love WvW, but I also hate how close it is to perfect yet so far, cause Anet just seems can’t gripe why people likes it.

Anet please, you have such Amazing and Unique game mode that builds on The BEST combat system in any MMORPGs, it’s such an easy lay-ups.

Can we start with making fights or playing objective more rewording? Anything make player wanting to engage combat would be a good start.

Rant over, and that’s my TED talk, thanks.
