Looking for advice. Used a company (Fresh Coat Painters) for a job at my house, got the invoice, and paid via check as it was an option they gave for payment. Pretty standard.
However, they called me this morning demanding immediate payment, said mail takes too long and they would come to my house to “collect”, which is some B-movie mob nonsense. The money left my account and I can’t cancel the check, but the company is saying they can’t pay their painter until they get my check. I’ve told them this but they are expecting me to pay them again today.
Anyone else used them? Don’t want to make a mountain out of a molehill but I’ve never had a contractor pull this kind of thing before.
