Just throwing this out there for the current best solution to ME2 LE being too dark in case anyone happens to need this information. You can only do this in desktop mode.

Go to Browse local files -> Game folder -> ME2 folder -> Biogame -> Config -> GamerSettings.ini file and add ‘DepthOfField=False’ under SystemSettings.
