So, this happened last week, and I’m still reeling from the mess I got myself into.
My wife and I recently bought our own home together, and we’re still figuring out our shared finances. I was browsing online and stumbled on a crazy deal for ramen. You know, the bulk packs of instant noodles? The discount was so good that I thought, “Why not? We’ll be set for months, maybe even the whole year!”
I went to check out, but for some reason, my card wasn’t working (I blame the new bank app update). Instead, I accidentally clicked on her saved card. I figured I’d just pay her back since she wasn’t home to ask permission. How mad could she be about ramen, right?
Fast forward two days later, and she calls me while I’m at work. She’s yelling about a “monstrosity” in our living room. Confused, I told her to FaceTime me, and that’s when I saw it—a truckload of ramen boxes piled up to the ceiling. Apparently, they couldn’t leave it at the door and the neighbors (they watch our dogs when we aren’t home) let them in our apartment for the delivery.
Turns out, I hadn’t ordered one bulk pack. I ordered a pallet—over 500 packs of ramen. And to top it off, her card got maxed out because it was linked to a shared grocery account we both contribute to. Now our groceries are on hold, she’s livid, and our living room smells like chicken seasoning.
Edit : sorry I’m new to Reddit. Not sure how to upload a picture here.
TL;DR: I tried to buy some ramen, accidentally bought a year’s worth on my wife’s card, maxed it out, and now we’re living in a ramen fortress.
