I’ve tracked this subject for a long time. Most of my life really. There’s a “woo” factor to the phenomenon that I rejected for a while, but, I’ve since broadened my mind about.

Assuming that our wildest dreams are about to come true, my suspicion is that our attention plays a role. It’s just intuition. Can’t point to materialist evidence for it.

Perhaps beyond the fear of losing control, our government is hoping to redirect our collective attention and thereby buying itself more time.
