A couple of months ago, I upgraded my hinges from the first-gen hinges. There was only about a 30 degree angle where the lid wouldn’t completely fall. I upgraded to the second-gen 3.5kg hinges. I was kind of skeptical of a .2 kg difference, but now they feel like the best laptop hinges I’ve ever used. I can still open it one handed easily, and the lid doesn’t move anywhere when I pick up the laptop.
