So, I was texting my best friend about how our jobs have been extra stressful lately. We always send each other stupid memes to cope. I found this absolutely unhinged one of a raccoon in a suit with the caption:

“Management has no idea I’m just a feral little guy surviving on vibes.”

Seemed perfect for the moment. I hit send.

Except… I didn’t send it to my best friend. I sent it to my BOSS.

The instant panic was unreal. I started thinking of how I’d explain myself in the inevitable HR meeting. My career was over. I’d have to start a new life under a fake name.

But then… my boss replied.

“LMAO. I feel this too. Let’s move our meeting to 3 so we can both survive on slightly better vibes.”

I think I just became my boss’s favorite employee. Or at least, I’m safe—for now.

TL;DR: Tried to send my friend a meme about surviving corporate life. Sent it to my boss instead. Somehow didn’t get fired.
