A couple of weeks ago I posted a comment on somebody else’s thread about how I was struggling with motivation, energy, feeling really low, unable to get stuff done, and in general being totally miserable.

The support I received on that one comment was really nice. A bunch of people reached out in the comments with advice, and also in my DMs. They helped me get over myself, get over my concerns about not being able to afford to see the doctor*, and actually get me moving.
I’ve been to the doctor now, I’ve been prescribed some happy pills, and although they apparently take a few weeks to kick in, I’m already feeling a lot better. I don’t think the medication is doing that much yet, but just the fact that I DID SOMETHING instead of wallowing in my own misery actually has changed my mindset and approach. I sense some hope and much less trepidation about how this is all going to turn out.
Thank you, kind Reddit strangers.
* re not being able to afford the doctor… he didn’t charge me anything. :/
