Finance was long ago detached from reality. Pricing everything based on some future narratives, willingly ignoring “too big to fail” until it does, creating business structures that couldn’t survive outside of a precision-crafted environment.

AI will just be the latest excuse for it. “We didn’t understand how the magic black box made its conclusions” is just another way of saying “due diligence and grounded expectations are hard and less likely to generate moonshots, so we’ll make shit up that we want to hear.”
