Well, as we all know, jailbreak seems to be dead for latest iPhones and iOS.
I have a jailbroken iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 16.4.
For now it works awesomely, but when iOS 19 gets launched, lot of apps will stop giving support for iOS 16, so my phone will start getting outdated.
I started researching about Android devices, because in my mind, they are all “open” and usually don’t even need jailbreak (“root” in the Android world).
I discovered that:
- Modified whatsapp apks get your account/number banned from WhatsApp, so you do need to root your device to be able to modify WhatsApp (similar to Watusi in iOS)
- Rooting is not possible in every Android device (I was looking at Samsung S25 Ultra, which competes with iPhone 16 Pro Max, and found out the US version doesn’t allow for boot unlock)
So, my question here would be:
Whats the best high-end phone you can get if you want to do whatever you want with it? I will always love iPhones more than Androids but iPhone without jailbreak is trash for me
Samsung used to be the best alternative but they seem to be doing lot of anti-root methods
Is there any phone comparable to iPhone 16 Pro Max or Galaxy S25 Ultra which allow users to root it to be able to mod any app or do any system change I want?
Why are we losing our freedom like this?
