I finally got rid of wapo but I don’t want my head in the sand nor solely in the reddit echo chamber (it’s low key depressing.)

Ideally the publication is objective as possible and not owned by ultra wealthy folks buying politicians. I want a nice balance of local dmv news in addition to global affairs if possible, but if not national and global is OK. I already listen to NPR and am not interested in the NYT.
