I don’t remember where I learned this, but as someone who used to get hundreds of robo calls a week, I can attest to this working.
Robotic calls often wait for the sound of a voice before automatically marking a number as active, so that they don’t mark another robotic number by accident. This is why if your voicemail message is your voice you sometimes get cut-off robotic voicemails in your inbox.
So if you have a huge influx of robo calls, answer the call and instead of talking, mute your phone microphone and just wait until the bot ends the call - usually only about 30 seconds to a minute max. This will lead to most of them auto marking your number as inactive, and you’ll start to get less calls!
