It’s so pronounced that it almost seems intentional, which for Close to the Edge it works pretty great. However, it seems insane to ever include something like that in a classical recording, and if it is intentional, I strongly dislike it. Maybe there was a bird in the studio? Does anyone have any info on this recording in particular or similar events in the classical recording world? There seems to be more bird chirping in the some of the other preludes as I keep listening. His other recording (with Sonata 3 on the same CD) seems void of these bird chirps.
