I (a 21 year old guy, who has been on the high functioning side of the spectrum and has ADHD) I’ve been trying to take initiative to do more things on my own and make a commitment to it. I usually go get groceries at my local Kroger (I live in the southeast US) with my parents about every 2 weeks on the weeks we all get paid and over this Sunday I had to work and after work I just decided to get all of the stuff I usually get for the next two weeks. I usually know what to get for myself especially stuff I pack for my lunches. I spent about 30-45 minutes.

Over the last couple of months I’ve even started to paying for my groceries on my own. My budget is to spend no more than $150-250 every trip. I’ve averaged around $150-160 on every trip so far and I’ve managed to handle it pretty well.
