The rules “are a blow to its tourism economy and the thousands of New Yorkers and small businesses in the outer boroughs who rely on home sharing and tourism dollars to help make ends meet,” says Theo Yedinsky, global policy director for Airbnb. “The city is sending a clear message to millions of potential visitors who will now have fewer accommodation options when they visit New York City: You are not welcome.” Yedinsky says Airbnb has a goal of working with the city on “sensible” home-sharing rules, but he did not elaborate on the company’s next steps.

Get fucked, Theo. You don’t give half of .1 of a fuck about anyone but AirBNB’s profits. Like, I know this spokesperson practice of “changing the narrative” is not at all new in concept, but…how fucking glaring this one is. New York City will have no fewer tourists. The tourism industry will not suffer one bit. Airbnb didn’t build the tourist economy, and it’s absence won’t fucking put the smallest dent in it.

But this asshat doesn’t even give a shit, so I shouldn’t even be refuting the nonsense statement. Because it’s disingenuous publicist bullshit anyway. Legal weed did way more for NYC’s tourism than anything else in the past few decades. AirBNB helped fuckin landlords, who needed no help and need, actually, a swift and fitful ass kicking.

I say again, get fucked Theo.
