I’ve tried therapy a couple of times due to the trauma I have been left with by the gender dysphoria that ruined so much of my life. I’m stealth, but the shrinks I’ve spoken to have never really respected that. Few of them understood what gender dysphoria even is, acting as if my experiences are the same as a woman feeling insecure about her body. The ones who did know more about dysphoria acted as if I was living in shame just because I’m stealth, telling me I need to open up and tell all of my friends. I’m so sick of it. When I talk about my beliefs of gender dysphoria being a medical condition, not a “gender identity”, they only continue pushing the narrative that I should open up and “embrace my transness”. I accept that I am trans, but I don’t need to embrace it and be open about it with every person I meet. I think I would benefit from therapy if they weren’t so… tucute.
Has anyone found a good therapist? Was it hard? I’m thinking of just giving up on therapy as a whole
