After finishing Light Bringer I’m sure Lysander is screwed and Darrow won.

Lysander situation:

  • he doesn’t have the moon lord support and ships which he used to have
  • he in fact turned them into sworn enemies he didn’t have before
  • he didn’t wipe out the obsidians and didn’t kill the Fá or even his double
  • he destroyed moonies food supply making them a drain on resources even if they bend the knee
  • he betrayed his closest allies, most of them are murdered or left him
  • everyone knows his speech was bullshit, even Cicero is horrified by his actions a will probably betray him eventually
  • he didn’t gain any new allies, all the Golds he bribed with the seeds and what not don’t need him anymore because they already have what they wanted
  • he removed Atlas but the real problem for him was Atalantia
  • he still needs to deal with Atalantia and doesn’t have the moonie fleet to help him
  • his attempted reunification of society is an abject failure
  • he wasted time and gained nothing in return in 90% of the book, he was already on top before they left for the rim
  • he has the magic poison

Darrow situation:

  • he hurt his shoulder
  • he lost Cassius :(
  • he killed Fá
  • Atlas, the actually smart and far more dangerous Gold than Lysander, is dead
  • he gained Diomedes
  • he gained the Athena fleet and sisters, which was the only one he had any vague notion of getting
  • he gained the Obsidian fleet and braves, which he didn’t even dream of before
  • he gained the Moonie fleet and moon lords, again which was not even a notion

Most of the actual losses were suffered by the Moonies and even then the net result is positive for the Republic. I’m guessing Lysander will be betrayed and enslaved by one of the smarter golds in the first chapter just like every other time because he never builds himself any actual allies or power structure. His power always balances on a pile of lies and bullshit. It might be a wishful thinking, but I can’t imagine the Golds suffering his idiotic everchanging notions for too long.
