I just started reading this book and I’m confused about the aging. 13 year olds are described as “kids” 16 year olds are married. A year on Mars is 687 days or about 1.88 earth years. This would make a 16 year old about 30 and a 13 year old about 25. I’m getting the vibe that this isn’t the case and the ages are in earth years which makes even less sense to me. Why would people living on Mars care about the years or seasons of the earth?
