So I saw a LPT request about getting out of hanging out with people who drain your social battery … I’m in a similar place but in my situation it’s a friend who is part of a bigger group of friends.

She has some mental health struggles so initially I was just trying to be supportive but honestly it’s so draining for me and I just cannot keep up being that support person for them! I don’t want to be too direct in fear that it might be the tipping point for their mental health! So far I’ve been able to use excuses like “I’m just too tired to do much, I’ll message you when I’m ready”

The problem is we are part of a bigger group of friends who hang out via a common group chat, the others are fun and lighthearted which is how I want to use my social energy, but I risk upsetting this individual by agreeing to group events but being “too tired” to hang with them!

Any advice on how to tackle this?
