As title states, you own some land that’s rural, relatively private, and relatively unrestricted. You don’t have a cabin (maybe in the future though), and just want to camp on the land (to get away from your normal residence). How do you minimize how much packing and stuff that has to be dragged out there and set up when you visit?

• Would you build a small shed that can be securely locked, in which you can store things like a canvas tent, folding cot, lanterns, fuel, firewood, tools like hatchet or axe, even extra clothes? That way you would only be bringing food and other essentials when you head out there.
• Would you build a raised tent platform, to get your tent up off the ground and to have dry sitting area in the event of snow?
• What things do you NOT risk leaving there, since the land sits empty for weeks at a time and there could be theft?
• Would you bother building water collection, or just haul water out there for a few days at a time? Would you bother to build an outhouse or a privy, or just one of those privacy tent enclosures and 5 gallon bucket? The goal is to be comfortable when you are there, but be able to make quick trips there without loading a ton of gear up in the car.
