Maybe I’m just looking back on my childhood with rose colored glasses but I swear in the early to mid 90s Nissan was very cool.

  • You had the Maxima which was marketed as an upscale car. The 3rd gen was very cool looking for the time.
  • Pathfinder was a baller SUV in a time where there weren’t many SUVs. Eminem even shouts out the Pathfinder in one of his songs.
  • SX and ZX were very cool looking
  • Skyline obviously
  • Sentra appeared to be a solid econobox with the Altima more for families
  • The pickup trucks seemed to have a strong following
  • The Quest was a big deal when it first came out

Fast forward to know they have a horrible reputation bc they give loans to anyone so the Altima drivers often don’t have licenses or insurance. People on /whatcarshouldIbuy are always discouraged from buying them bc of poor transmission among other reasons.

What happened?
