My sweet neighbor lost his wife 4 years ago and has fallen in love with a beautiful girl online that is in her mid 30s, and has sent her thousands over the last couple of years. He has been completely drained, she has access to all of his accounts, he is sending money through bitcoin and gift cards! Obviously this person is someone else behind the screen. He’s sent her money to come visit and there is always an excuse why, yet the money gets spent because she says some scammer tapped into the card and spent the money before she could get a ticket.

He will not fully believe me, or anyone else! He’s even been to the police when he got messages saying that she has been kidnapped and held for ransom!! They couldn’t even convince him that he’s being scammed.

The only way I think I can convince him that it’s a scam is proving that the pictures are not of this person. I took a bunch of the pictures he has of her, I just want him to stop before he loses his house, he’s already almost lost his truck. I feel so bad for the poor guy but also he’s ignoring all of the red flags here, or anyone’s voice of reason…

Is there some kind of sleuthing Reddit or fb group that can help me track down the real person behind the photos to prove to him that it’s not who he has been talking to?
