Hi!
Is anyone else making of list of all the mods they will be looking for/making when the mod workshop drops? I was in a dilemma if I should even get the game before the workshop drops but I figured I would still play before so I would know what mods I would need. I’m glad I did because I’m almost 60 hours deep and having a lot of fun.
These are mine in no particular order, but I’m actually more interested about what everyone else is looking for. Please also let me know if you are planning to make any of these mods so maybe we can not have a 100 people working on the same thing and spread it out a bit.
Move it - This one is obvious to anyone who tried it in the first game. I personally need it mostly to make minor adjustments to road height and position, but it’s nice to move props and buildings closer to each other than the game normally allows.
Line tool - I’d be surprised if this wasn’t dropped before the workshop releases. A nice tool draw a line/circle of props. Very useful for decorating.
Bikes - Not sure this can really be added in as a mod, but CO said they had everything ready but the bike riding animations. Hopefully it won’t be a paid DLC.
Toggle - Simple on/off toggles for a few things. These should be easy since they’re already in the dev tools. Weather, white road lines, notification icons (high rent etc), road names and a few more like that.
Water - A way to place water yourself. To make lakes etc.
Zoning - There needs to be a much easier way to choose which road gets priority for zoning.
Tree brush - There should be a “mixed” option where you can choose several to place at a time and their intensity as well.
Farms and mining - A way remove or place the buildings that you see randomly pop up in the drawn zones. This are needs much more control.
Public transport - Some way to have a schedule for public transport. So you wouldn’t have 10 busses right after one another with the rest of the line being empty.
Search and sample - A general search for every item in the game. This was very useful for CS1. And a sample tool of where you click on a prop/building and can place that same item again
Props - Currently mostly missing park and industry related props.
Playable area - Unlocking the entire map to play on. Similar to 81 tiles from CS1.
Road tools - Although the road tools are a massive improvement over the first game I’m still missing a few things.
Road elevation - There needs to be a toggle to have the road keep a 0.0% incline no matter the terrain.
Stop signs and give way - This needs to be a little more adjustable in the game where you can choose which road has to give way.
Lane assignments - Drawing a path of which lane can go where in a much more detailed way.
Road nodes - Mostly I would need this to place a crosswalk exactly where I want to.
Parking - There needs to be a “no parking” toggle without having to add grass, tree etc.
Zoning - A “no zoning” option for roads.
Quay - A forced quay option so we wouldn’t have to play the “trace the edge” game.
I’m eager to hear all your ideas!
