I’m a bit confused, I’ve been burned by Amazon via a Echo Show 15 TV thing that is totally useless as a home assistant dashboard. I see a lot of recommendations for a Fire HD 10 tables but I’m confused by this option:

wtf $20 for no ads?

I’d like the tablet to either show a some pictures or a screen saver type thing when idle, or maybe just a black screen, and then pop on when motion is detected from the device’s camera or an external sensor if that doesn’t work. Do I have to pay $20 more to get a device that doesn’t have lock screen ads to do that or is it all going to be locked down and janky either way?

I would like to be able to use Fully Kiosk and maybe Wallpanel for this so maybe the tablet would never go to the lock screen? Thinking about picking up one around black Friday / cyber Monday since Amazon usually has good deals for that.

Thanks!
