Hello all. We visited the Netherlands earlier this year and something that really struck me was how good the coffee was there. I only drink black coffee without sugar so coffee that is too bitter/strong etc doesn’t really work for me. A strong coffee is nice if not overly bitter. I live in UAE and if you get coffee at fastfood joints or even some fancy restaurants like cheesecake factory, it is a hit or miss with coffee. It is either nice or gal inducing junk. But no matter where we got our coffee from in the Netherlands it was always good or exceptional. Is this the norm? Was I lucky? If this is the norm… What is the secret? What beans is common etc? I have a Philips 2200 coffee machine and I kinda have my go to beans but the coffee isn’t nearly as good as in Netherlands. Advice would be appreciated.

TLDR: Coffee good… Too good… Why?
