  1. Going first gives you a HUGE advantage IF you capitalize on it. You need to have enough one-cost cards in your deck to get a minion down on turn one.
  2. Prioritze killing minions over dealing damage to heros. Minions can have spells cast on them and abilities can activate and buff them. The player that has more minions or has minions that can attack first will probably win the game, or at least get a good damage lead.
  3. Don’t always spend all your mana. If you have 6 mana left over, you don’t need to spend it on the spells in your hand. Save it for next turn and try to get more value out of them.
  4. Figure out how your opponent’s deck works. What is their goal and how do they achieve it? If they are playing death knight, they want to get a ton of corpses and have a huge combo turn where they spawn and buff a ton of stuff. Be ready for that and try to prevent it.
  5. Pay attention to effects. Basically just read cards.
