Been seeing a bunch of positions for the Boise office appear on my Linkedin feed, I applied to one that fit my background. The next day I got a pre-interview phone call from a rep for T&D, asked me if M-F hours and office location off of Cole Rd would be okay, then scheduled me for what they call a “webinar” interview the next morning.

Over the night I did some research, and found out T&D handles all the marketing for what they call “non-profits”. These so called “non-profits” are what I could find below, but there could be more.

  • LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence)
  • SFTS (Stands For the Silent)

You’ve probably seen LEAD around town, I actually gave some money to some reps over the summer, which in hindsight was stupid of me.

The TLDR is every single one of these “non-profits” is actually a for profit business that has no verifiable ties to any local non-profit groups. Further beyond that, T&D and other similar direct sales companies all have very cult like MLM business culture, so if you work there you can expect very abusive and manipulative practices.

So don’t think about working for this company, but also please do not give a dime of your money to any of these scammy booths if you see them around town. If you have the courage I’d suggest you confront the business manager of any store these guys pop up at and explain they’ve been duped.
